Garstang and District Children’s Festival 28th May 2018

Welcome to the 2018 festival!

We are really proud as a festival committee to present to you this year’s programme for the Garstang and District Children’s Festival. The committee is made up of a number of people who come together every year around January to start preparing for the brilliant day that is known locally by many of us as “Whit Monday” even though it is now called Spring Bank Holiday Monday.

We work for six months bringing together all members of the community to carry out a whole range of jobs to make sure that the festival happens. Besides the festival committee listed in the programme, there are all of the people who prepare the amazing tableaus, the stewards on the day, the house to house collectors, the refreshments team, the Queen’s parents and friends, the generous donators and so it goes on. It is probably a cast of hundreds which is again what makes it so unique.

The festival is one of the longest running events in the town, having been established well over 125 years ago. We are proud to ensure this superb event is still ongoing for this generation of children and we hope for many more to come. If you are new to Garstang, this is one day in the calendar you wouldn’t want to miss.

So please do join us as there is so much to see and do on the day for everyone, and it is especially a great day out for families. We can never guarantee a sunny day, but we can always guarantee two great parades.

So make sure the date is in your diary and we will see you there!

Remember that you can keep up to date with all of our news on our Facebook page and twitter @GarstangCF.

Best wishes,

Julie Bell
