Garstang and District Children's Festival
Chairmans Address
Welcome to the 2011 Garstang Children's Festival. Everything is now in full swing
for the big day. All the bands have been booked, the tableaux have been entered,
food orders planned, the police contacted, house to house collections organised and
so on. There are, as you may imagine, a hundred and one things to do to ensure the
day is a success, but it all comes together because of the superb Committee and the
many other brilliant volunteers that help on the day or prior to the event. If you fancy
getting involved with the event please get in touch with David Gardner, the Secretary,
or myself. We would love to hear from you!
The Committee felt it was very important that everyone who contributed to the
festival should be aware of how the money is spent. Therefore this year in the
booklet we have included some examples from both past and present festivals for
you to consider. We are a charity and every penny goes to make sure the day runs
successfully and all the children enjoy themselves.
I look forward to seeing many of you on the day and let's hope the weather is kind to
us.
